Back in Tokyo (Sky Tree)

ただいま〜♡ Yep, as I've mentioned briefly before, I've come back to Tokyo 2 weeks early for various reasons. I landed, commuted back to campus via public transport with 35kg of luggage, showered, got ready, and headed out to Tokyo Sky Tree for the first time ever!

On the way up~

My friends looking at Tokyo.

And here you have it- Tokyo; I'm home.

They even had an observation deck with a glass-floored area where we could stand and be visibly hundreds of metres above ground.

I leave you with a photo from the airplane as we approach Japan.

What I did in Singapore

I was actually planning to write and post this while I was in Singapore as a live update like "What I'm doing in Singapore now!" or something, but I'm back in Tokyo already.

I went back at the beginning of July and was planning to stay until the end of July (like literally 1st~31st July), but due to circumstances, I ended up coming back to Tokyo 2 weeks early. I had fun, but I'm glad I came back early because I can only do so many things in Singapore, you know. This post is about what I could do in Singapore- starting with day 2: shopping with T!

Went to Bugis to take purikura and get Taimei but 1. purikura shop closed down and 2. forgot what I used to drink at Taimei and got the wrong thing. (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

Also got 3 new piercings (2 on the right, 1 on the left)!

Then, Yurie and Parute came to Singapore to play~ and I saw the Merlion for the first time in my life.

仁義 pose next to the Merlion.

Went to USS (仁義 pose with some random walking attraction there).

More USS. Honestly, the Battlestar Galactica ride (the only proper rollercoaster), which I used to love, was really slow and rattly. I guess I'm too used to the quality of FujiQ to appreciate anything else.

Did their makeup for a night out in Singapore.

Brought them to EWF, abused my still-effective staff card.

And then they left, and I met my S4L for dinner, also at EWF.

And F4TW too.

Ate lots of good food there, so much that I'm dedicating a whole separate post to it later haha. But in the end, I'm glad to be back in Tokyo because there's no place like home (here).

Summer nails

Summer = heat = ice cream and bright, psychedelic prints, right? I really couldn't decided what I wanted for my nails this time, so I used a photo I took a year ago as reference. It's the exact same design as one of the shop attendants from 109, and drips are still popular this year so awesome.

Got it done at my usual place in Singapore. Satisfactory skills for the price (in comparison to Japan) and for Singapore's level in general, so I'm not complaining. Getting pretty nails done while I relax has always cheered me up since forever.

FujiQ with Mai; Mai's birthday

Some time back (or a really long time back), Mai and I went to Fuji-Q Highlands when we had a day off from school. We'd actually been planning this since last year, and were supposed to go with our 2男 guys, but everyone couldn't make it and Mai and I couldn't wait any longer, so we went.

Scenery from the bus on the way there.

Mount Fuji from the queue for FUJIYAMA (the longest rollercoaster there).

The park (the big coaster in the middle is Eejanaika, the coaster with the most turns).

The inside of FUJIYAMA.

Nagashimasuka, the water ride Mai dragged me onto.

After Nagashimasuka.

It just so happened that the next day was Mai's birthday, so she wanted to hang out on bakayama that night. We got back really late thanks to traffic otw back, but I wanted to bake her a cake before midnight, so I discreetly got the ingredients and delayed my appearance at bakayama. I literally took the cake out of the oven at 11:54pm and ran to bakayama with a burning hot cheesecake that I didn't even end up eating 'cos I hate cheese. The surprise was successful, and the cheesecake was (apparently) delicious.

We had many plans for Mai's birthday itself, but we were all too tired from the day and night before so we ended up canceling it all and just going to Spice House for her birthday dinner.

And that's the story of Mai's birthday! This post is over a month late, but happy belated birthday Mai~!

Random update time!!!

It was Kanako's birthday recently so we all went to Roppongi to celebrate! It became somewhat of an 16Septen会 after that and (some of us) celebrated the end of finals and freshman year in general.

Photos from the evening.

After that, we went for all-night karaoke and had an amazing view~

And some time back, we had the first and last 3女肉の日 of the school year...?

It's all-you-can-eat so we were pretty satisfied. The stack of cups would be the ice cream we (mainly me) ate.

And finally, how could it be a random update post without random foods I made. Mai got a package from America with Horlicks packs in it, so I used it to make us Malt Shakes a la EWF (yes, I still remember the recipe from when I worked there over a year ago).

And 辛ラーメン-flavoured fried chicken!!! Original recipe and super duper delicious.

The heat, the humidity, the English so bad it makes my ears bleed. Yep, you guessed it- I'm in Singapore right now. I won't say I'm "back" or "home" because for me, at least for the next 3 years, Tokyo is my home. Sure, the apartment I'm sitting in is my home, but Singapore will never be "home" to me again (if it ever remotely was). This feels like a month-long holiday to Singapore, culminating in me eventually going home to Mitaka. I've become so used to the tempo of my life in Japan that it's almost uncomfortable being here.

I've moved out of 3女 for the next 2 months- sad. As I type this I'm wearing my 3女 sweatpants, missing 3女 life. Things I already miss: my futon, my bike, my speaker+subwoofer set, my roommate, the weather, the campus.

Anyway, everyone had to clear and clean to prepare for the dorm closing. Moth balls, dehumidifiers, sealing of stuff, newspapering my shelves, clearing of 4-month-old garbage, clearing of the room in general etc. This is prolly the cleanest 201 has ever been since before we even moved in.

And then my room in Singapore! I'm actually not living in my room right now because the air-con, which has been broken for about 10 years now, still has not been fixed and I simply cannot live in this humidity. At least the haze has gotten a lot better, though.

THE AIR-CON. Yes, I'm sleeping in the computer room.

My personal bathroom- no more communal showers/baths for a month.

Living room with clean floors- ahh, it's been so long since I've been barefoot on clean floors.

And a peek into the kitchen.

Today marks day 1 of Singapore and I'm already bored. Tomorrow onwards, however, I have plans everyday. I wanted to go to JUMBO for Black Pepper Crab today but my parents aren't being cooperative. (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`) What did I come back for, if not BPC?!!??!?!

That's about all I wanted to say, I guess. Just an update that I'm out of the country for a month and socially handicapped until I get my SIM card renewed- the old one stopped working 'cos I haven't used it in 10 months, and also because it's like 5 years old. And my dad washed it in the sink. LINE, tweet or FB message me to get me.
